Akeem Balogun was born in 1989. He did his primary and secondary education at Ebi Efhany Anglican Primary School, Takwa Bay Lagos before he dropped out in SS1 (Senior Secondary 1) to Kuramo College, Victoria Island Lagos.

Since he was the oldest in the family, he had to stop his education because of very difficult financial situation and started to take care of his mother, old father and four siblings.

Two of his sisters are living with them in Takwa Bay while the other two now lives with some relatives far from home.

Through all these difficult situations, Akeem did not allow his situation impel him to do evil; he is hard working, trust worthy and reliable; a man of integrity that will do any job but steal. Akeem is always looking for means of satisfy his family. His word “I will have to strive for my sisters and father”. He is not trying to find a way to get a better life on his own but also concern about the good life of his entire household.

When approached by TGCF with the intention of sponsoring him back to school, he smiled and said “School! I appreciate it but I won’t be able to go back; I’ve been out of school for almost ten years. I will prefer to have a Boat Engine, which will generate money for me and my family daily”. This sincere word from an honest heart touched the foundation’s team; hence, Givanas charitable foundation decided to assist him with the Engine, that cost N330, 000 (Three Hundred and Thirty Thousand Naira Only).

It is the Foundation’s prayer that he will make good use of the engine and become what he dreams for in life.
